
Locum Anaesthetic ODP/RN
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled, motivated and flexible Anaesthetic ODP or Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic perioperative team within East Scotland to help support sickness cover.
In this role, you’ll deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred anaesthetic care across a range of surgical specialities. You’ll work alongside Consultants, Theatre Practitioners, and the wider multi‑disciplinary team to ensure safe and effective clinical practice. Ideal candidates would have dual training in both anaesthetics and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence‑based anaesthetic care to patients of all ages.
- Prepare, check, and maintain anaesthetic equipment in line with current guidelines.
- Assist Anaesthetists during general, regional, and local anaesthetic procedures.
- Support patients pre‑operatively and post‑operatively with a compassionate, person‑centred approach.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
- Work collaboratively with theatre and recovery teams to ensure seamless care.
Requirements
- Full registration with HCPC registration (for ODPs) or NMC registration (for RNs), with no restrictions on practice.
- A Minimum of 18 months post-graduate experience within operating theatres is essential.
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and high standards of care.
- Dual training or experience in Recovery (PACU) is highly desirable.
