The Role
You will actively participate in the delivery of high-quality services and will have responsibility for providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient Nephrology in conjunction with colleagues across the Organisation.
The Dialysis Unit is a specialised provider of services to patients with kidney disease, including patients suffering from chronic kidney failure. A dedicated Clinical Dietitian is assigned to work with those who receive dialysis and the Dialysis Team also treats Patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
Clinical responsibilities include:
- In liaison with consultant colleagues and overseas service providers, you will be responsible for the clinical management of patients under your care including nephrology, dialysis and transplant patients
- Provides care for a cohort of patients who have haemodialysis in the Dialysis Unit. This includes care of the Patients, regular Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) reviews and involvement in the management of the Unit
- Promote and participate in interdisciplinary clinical rounds and be a clinical resource, leading in the development of best practice clinical pathways.
Successful candidates will enjoy working within a close-knit multidisciplinary team and be comfortable practising in a smaller island healthcare environment.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Board certified
- Specialty registration and training in Nephrological Medicine
- Current registration with Bermuda Medical Council with valid license to practice
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Consultant Nephrologist / Renal Physician
