Under the direction of the Chief of Medicine and having a broad and depth of experience in Neurological Medicine, the post holder will actively participate in the delivery of high quality emergency and elective services.
Successful applicants will provide a range of general neurology procedures for patients, across inpatient and outpatient services, including and not limited to the assessment of neurology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing advice or managing the care, where appropriate, of patients under the care of other specialists.
The Post Holder will actively participate in Stroke quality improvement and accreditation activities, working with the Stroke Director to monitor the care of patients within the Stroke Unit and throughout the Organization.
Key responsibilities include:
· Perform a range of general neurology procedures for patients, across inpatient and outpatient services, including and not limited to the assessment of neurology patients in both an inpatient and outpatient settings
· Participate in Stroke quality improvement and accreditation activities, working with the Stroke Director to monitor the care or patients within the Stroke Unit and throughout the organization
· Act as an advisor to the Chief of Staff, and Senior officers, Professional Practice leaders, Clinical Managers and other professional colleagues on medical and medical-legal matters related to general surgery
· Ensure the appropriate use and development of EMG nerve conduction studies, EEG and evoked potential polysomnography.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge &/ Registration required:
· Board certified USA / UK / Irish / Canadian / European / Australian Specialist qualifications.
· Specialty registration and training in Neurological medicine
· Current registration with Bermuda Medical Council with valid license to practice – or eligibility to apply
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an attending Neurologist
