The Role
You will actively participate in Stroke quality improvement and accreditation activities, working with the Stroke Director to monitor the care of patients within the Stroke Unit and throughout the Organization
Clinical responsibilities include:
- Perform a range of general neurology procedures for patients, across inpatient and outpatient services, including and not limited to the assessment of neurology patients in both an inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participate in stroke quality improvement and accreditation activities, working with the Stroke Director to monitor the care of patients within the Stroke Unit and throughout the organization
- Ensure the appropriate use and development of EMG nerve conduction studies, EEG and evoked potential polysomnography.
- Target and develop benchmark data to establish and monitor quality improvement activities
- Provide appropriate time return for external consultations and Quality and Risk activities as required
- Be proactive and solution focused with respect to Datix reporting and follow-up
Successful candidates will enjoy working within a close-knit multidisciplinary team and be comfortable practising in a smaller island healthcare environment.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- American Board Certification or equivalent qualification
- Specialty registration and training in Neurological medicine
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an attending Neurologist
- Eligibility for registration with the Bermuda Medical Council
- Effectively aid in the development of Staff members. Identifies and engages key Stakeholders to improve existing practices or address challenges within the Organization. Applies critical thinking, considering the impact of decisions on people, processes and services
