As a key member of the Oncology team, you will oversee the Medical Physics program ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective delivery of radiation therapy services. You will provide expertise across clinical physics, radiation safety, quality management, technology implementation and continuous improvement.
This position is well suited for an experienced Medical Physicist who thrives in a high-calibre clinical environment, demonstrates strong clinical judgement and values teamwork, collaboration and professional excellence.
You must have (not limited to)
- Master's or PhD in Medical Physics, Radiation Physics, or related discipline.
- Board certification or internationally recognised equivalent (e.g., ABR or equivalent).
- Minimum of 8 years of clinical radiation oncology physics experience.
- Experience leading or managing a medical physics program within a radiation oncology environment.
- Advanced clinical experience in IMRT, IGRT, SBRT/SRS, HDR, and treatment planning systems.
- Experience with modern radiation oncology technologies, including Varian TrueBeam/ ARIA or equivalent platforms.
Skills required
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Medical Physics and Radiation Safety programs.
- Support radiation therapy services including treatment planning, dosimetry, imaging, simulation, and treatment delivery.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatment quality and patient outcomes.
- Support advanced radiation therapy techniques including IMRT, IGRT, SBRT/SRS, HDR, and other specialised procedures.
- Lead the development and maintenance of quality assurance, quality management, and patient safety programs.
- Serve as Radiation Safety Officer, ensuring safe practices, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management.
- Oversee commissioning, implementation, and optimisation of radiation therapy equipment and clinical systems.
- Maintain compliance with Bermuda regulations, international standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices.
- Support clinical audits, inspections, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing program development.
- Mentor and support Medical Physics staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.
- Contribute to research, innovation, technology advancement, and strategic service development.
