Head Medical are seeking post-foundation doctors for exciting General Medicine opportunities in the Hawke’s Bay region of New Zealand. - Broad General Medicine exposure including Acute Medicine and specialty relief cover

The Role
You will be based in a modern 400-bed accredited secondary hospital, one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand, providing acute and elective care for a population of over 162,000.
The General Medicine service is a large, well-structured and supportive department, providing exposure across a broad range of specialties and acute presentations. The role includes both core General Medicine ward work and General Medicine relief cover, offering excellent variety and clinical exposure.
The department includes:
- A team of 40 Physicians, 26 Registrars, and 15 House Officers
- Coverage across Acute Medicine, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Respiratory, Geriatrics, Oncology, and Cardiology
- Over 8,000 admissions per year
- 4 medical wards plus a 20-bed Acute Assessment Unit
This is an excellent opportunity to build confidence in acute medicine, strengthen procedural and decision-making skills, and work closely within a strong teaching environment alongside consultants and registrars.
Location
You will be based in Hastings, a vibrant coastal city on New Zealand’s North Island, with the option to live in either Hastings or nearby Napier.
