Head Medical is seeking post-foundation doctors with a strong interest in ENT and broad rotational experience across General Surgery subspecialties for opportunities at Tauranga Hospital, set in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. The Role
There are two hospitals in the region, Whakatāne hospital has 110 beds, and Tauranga Hospital with 359 beds. The Medical Service provides specialist services across the Bay of Plenty district, which incorporates two hospital sites in Tauranga and Whakatāne (1 hour drive down the coast), delivering general internal medicine inpatient and outpatient services, plus a range of subspeciality services.
This role will be based at Tauranga Hospital (359 bed, Level 2 Hospital). You will work as an integral member of the ENT team, providing care to a population of approximately 308,000. You will gain exposure to a broad range of ENT presentations and will work alongside highly skilled specialists committed to delivering excellent patient-centred care. The post offers valuable opportunities for learning, outpatient and inpatient exposure, theatre time, and involvement in multidisciplinary team discussions. This role is ideally suited to doctors with a long-term interest in ENT.
There is a focus on Māori health and a strong commitment to closing the gaps and reducing health inequalities by re-designing pathways with Māori (who make up 25.6% of the region’s population), to promote better access to healthcare services.
