Head Medical is seeking Post Foundation Doctors (PGY3+) with previous Anaesthesia experience to join the Anaesthesia Department at Palmerston North Hospital- a modern 350-bed teaching hospital and one of New Zealand's largest regional trauma centres.

- Supportive department of 30 Consultant Anaesthetists and 9 Anaesthesia Registrars with excellent FANZCA examination support.

The Role
Palmerston North Hospital is a 350-bed secondary teaching hospital serving the MidCentral region and home to one of New Zealand's largest trauma centres. The Anaesthesia Department is highly regarded for its commitment to registrar education, providing a supportive learning environment where you'll develop confidence in independent anaesthetic practice while working alongside 30 experienced Consultant Anaesthetists.
Facilities include 10 operating theatres, a cardiac catheterisation laboratory, ICU, CCU and a Regional Cancer Centre, providing exposure to a diverse surgical workload. Regional anaesthesia is actively encouraged, and you'll also gain experience in peri-operative medicine through the department's CPEx service and multidisciplinary high-risk surgical clinic. You will benefit from structured teaching, protected education, and excellent support.
