Our client is on of Singapore’s newest integrated acute and community hospital, offering a full spectrum of tertiary services including acute, sub‑acute, rehabilitative and transitional care within a modern, purpose‑built campus. Operated by one of the three major healthcare groups in Singapore, the hospital currently provides around 1,000 beds with plans to expand to 1,800 and serves as the key public healthcare institution for the region. Designed for seamless patient journeys and community‑centred care, the facility features advanced facilities, therapeutic green spaces, and collaborative partnerships with primary and long‑term care providers to deliver holistic, accessible, and sustainable healthcare. The department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking a suitably qualified Consultant Chemical Pathologist to join their team on a long term basis.

Quality Management & Compliance:
- Help ensure laboratory compliance with local regulations and internationally recognised accreditation standards
- Participate actively in quality assurance programmes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Implement and monitor quality control measures across laboratory operations
- Contribute to policy development and standard operating procedures
Laboratory Operations:
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of laboratory operations and apply this to daily practice
- Oversee workflow optimisation and ensure efficient laboratory processes
- Collaborate with laboratory management on service development and enhancement
- Monitor laboratory performance metrics and implement improvements as needed
Professional Collaboration:
- Demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills in all interactions
- Participate in institutional or departmental committees as required
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
Professional Development & Education:
- Take advantage of opportunities to excel in Clinical Research, with institutional support for research initiatives
- Pursue educational opportunities and contribute to teaching programmes
- Engage in continuing professional development activities
- Mentor junior staff and trainees as appropriate

Essential Requirements:
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Singapore Medical Council
- For overseas qualified doctors: At least 3 years’ experience as a Consultant
- Prior experience in public healthcare or teaching hospitals is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of laboratory operations and quality management systems
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Recognised qualifications in Chemical Pathology
- Demonstrated experience in chemical pathology and laboratory medicine
- Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and patient-centred care
The hospital can only consider a specialist with one or more of the below qualifications:
- Certification by one of the medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Fellowship with the Hong Kong Academy or College (FHKAM, FHKAM etc)
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT or CCST) awarded by a competent authority of the UK or Ireland (Please note CESR is not recognised in Singapore)
- Certification by one of the Royal Colleges in Australia or New Zealand
