Excellent opportunities to work in 3 month locum positions in a stunning region of Ontario. Located just 2.5 hours north of Toronto in Ontario’s scenic Grey Bruce region, the hospital group offers Emergency Medicine physicians the opportunity to practice within a collaborative regional health system while enjoying an exceptional quality of life.
Offering flexible 3-month contracts at 120 hours per month, with the opportunity - but not the requirement - to transition into a permanent role if desired following successful trial period.
Serving a population of more than 170,000 residents and over 2 million short-stay visitors annually, the employer operates six hospitals across Grey and Bruce counties providing emergency, acute, ambulatory, and specialty care within an integrated regional network.
Practice Environment
The hospitals are in the communities of Owen Sound, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton, Wiarton and Lion’s Head. Contract physicians can be scheduled at multiple locations or matched exclusively in one community. Shifts range from 6 to 12 hours, depending on location.
Emergency Physicians benefit from shared clinical standards, strong collaboration, and established consultation pathways across the local health system. Specialist services include comprehensive surgical services, internal medicine, critical care, neurology, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry, anaesthesia, oncology, full diagnostic imaging, and laboratory services.
Locum to Full-Time Opportunity
Locum shifts are pre-scheduled and can be balanced across 4 weeks or condensed into shorter durations each month to then allow physicians time to explore the region. We often say that we work, where others come to play.
Shifts available as early as June 2026 for already licensed physicians, and out to December 2026 and beyond. Consecutive three-month contract terms.
