Head Medical are recruiting experienced Adult Psychiatry Doctors at Registrar-equivalent / SAS level for a highly supportive Mental Health service based in Southland, New Zealand.
This is an excellent opportunity for doctors with strong Adult Psychiatry experience seeking a long-term move to New Zealand, within a collaborative, consultant-led service offering structured support, career development, and outstanding work-life balance.
These roles are particularly suited to doctors working at Registrar, Specialty Doctor, Associate Specialist or Consultant level (without CCT) who meet the requirements for Medical Council of New Zealand registration via the Competent Authority pathway.

The Role
You will join a well-established multidisciplinary team within Southland Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Services, based in Invercargill.
The service delivers comprehensive adult mental health care across both inpatient and community settings and includes:
- Adult Acute Inpatient Unit (16–18 beds)
- Community Mental Health Team
- Emergency Mental Health Service
- Older Persons Mental Health / Psychogeriatrics
- Regional specialist services and strong clinical networks
Depending on your experience and preference, you will work in either Adult Inpatient Psychiatry or Community Mental Health, within a supportive, consultant-led environment.
