Locum Scrub Practitioner Required for NHS Shetland!
We’re looking for a Nurse or Scrub Practitioner who is competent in both scrub and anaesthetics for a short-term contract in Shetland:
📅 Dates: Monday 1st December 2025 – 12th January 2026
📍 Location: NHS Shetland
⏳ Duration: 6 weeks
About the Role:
You’ll join a skilled theatre team in a suite that includes:
✔ 2 large operating rooms with adjoining anaesthetic rooms
✔ 2-bay recovery unit (can function as Level 3 HDU)
✔ Endoscopy decontamination facility
The caseload includes elective and emergency procedures, obstetric emergencies, and visiting consultant specialties such as Dental, Maxillofacial, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Paediatric Surgery.
On-call duties will include supporting in Maternity, A&E, and HDU.
Requirements:
✔ Current NMC or HCPC registration (no restrictions)
✔ Minimum 2 years’ current theatre experience
✔ Competent in scrub procedures across multiple specialties
✔ Previous experience in an emergency on-call team is beneficial
