About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Infectious Diseases (ID) consultant to join our collaborative multidisciplinary team. You'll play a key role in delivering patient-centred care across a wide range of specialties, providing expert ID advice to inpatient teams including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, ENT, Urology, ICU, Oncology (medical and radiation), Haematology, General Medicine, Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neurology, and Renal – including a large dialysis unit.

This position may include General Medicine responsibilities, which can be discussed with the successful candidate.

About the Service

Our service is supported by a locum ID Consultant, a dedicated Infection Prevention and Control team, Home IV antibiotic and vascular access teams, a full-time ID Pharmacist, and an onsite Microbiologist. The ID team also supports the pharmacy-led Antimicrobial Stewardship programme, sits on the IPC committee and is involved in education across the organisation. The team work together with a Microbiologist and the lab team and the Sexual Health service, including HIV, which is located on site.
