The Role
Goulburn Base Hospital is a modern Level 4 regional hospital that relocated into its purpose-built Clinical Services Building in 2021. The hospital features a contemporary Emergency Department, Level 4 Intensive Care Unit, modern Operating Theatres and a broad range of inpatient surgical services, providing an excellent environment for doctors looking to develop their surgical experience.
Working closely with experienced General Surgeons and multidisciplinary teams, you will gain valuable exposure to:
- Assessment and management of acute surgical presentations
- Elective General Surgery
- Peri-operative and post-operative patient care
- Ward-based patient management and multidisciplinary discharge planning
- Clinical decision-making within a busy acute surgical service
- Opportunities to further develop procedural, communication and clinical leadership skills
