Head Medical is recruiting post-foundation doctors to join the Obstetrics & Gynaecology team at Palmerston North Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience within a busy regional O&G service, working alongside experienced Consultants and a supportive multidisciplinary team. With approximately 2,000 births each year, the department offers exposure to a wide range of obstetric presentations alongside general gynaecology, surgery and outpatient work.

The Role
Palmerston North Hospital provides a busy regional Obstetrics & Gynaecology service, supporting women from across the wider Manawatū region.
The maternity service manages approximately 2,000 births each year, providing exposure to a broad range of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care. The O&G team works closely with midwives, anaesthetics, neonatology, and other specialties to provide multidisciplinary care.
Doctors joining the department can gain experience across obstetrics and gynaecology, including the birthing suite, gynaecological surgery, and outpatient clinics, with opportunities to work alongside experienced Consultants and develop their clinical skills in a supportive environment.
The hospital is a 360-bed regional facility with a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, providing a varied clinical environment and the opportunity to work as part of a large multidisciplinary team.
