Head Medical is seeking post foundation doctors keen to broaden their clinical experience within Paediatrics. You will be based in Palmerston North; a vibrant and youthful city, set at the foot of the Tararua mountain range. It has all the facilities that you would expect of a city, yet is still compact, accessible, and easy to navigate.

The Role
Palmerston North Hospital is a 350-bed secondary teaching hospital providing one of the largest trauma centres in New Zealand serving an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of approx. 168,000. There are excellent facilities on site including a lecture theatre and library. Personal development and teaching are actively encouraged.
This is an ideal role for those seeking to broaden their expertise within the specialty. The department features a 14-bed neonatal unit catering to babies from 28 weeks, as well as a busy Children’s Ward that handles a wide variety of cases. You will gain hands-on experience across ward work, neonatal care, and outpatient clinics, with tertiary support provided by Starship, including visiting SMOs and specialist clinics.
