CONSULTANT UROLOGIST - WHANGĀREI, NORTHLAND NEW ZEALAND

We are looking for a Consultant Urologist to join the Surgical Department at Whangārei.

The employer provides public health services across the Northland region, from north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga serving a growing population of 190,000. Whangārei has the largest hospital in Northland providing secondary care services, supported by three rural hospitals in Kaitaia; Kawakawa, and Dargaville.

We are looking for a skilled Consultant to provide safe, efficient and effective urology services to the Northland community. This role is pre-dominantly based in Whangārei, however does include occasional travel to rural areas including Kaitaia on a rostered basis. There is an on-call roster split between consultants and you will also need to participate in the supervision and teaching of resident medical officers within the urology service.

Whangārei has the largest hospital in Northland providing secondary care services, supported by three regional hospitals in Kaitaia; Kawakawa, and Dargaville. Northland covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres with a growing population of more than 190,000. It boasts some of the most scenic and exciting coastal areas of New Zealand in a subtropical climate. Whangārei is a 25-minute flight or 2-hour drive from Auckland City.

To be considered, you must have or be eligible for specialist/ vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Urology vocational scope of practice.
