We are currently recruiting a Transfusion Medicine Specialist based in Auckland. This is a rare opportunity to join the New Zealand Blood Service, who are committed to providing a world class Blood Service for the people of New Zealand.

The Role

You will be part of an essential service which employs 560 people across its centres in New Zealand.  The service supports the health sector with safe blood products on a time critical basis.

The Auckland Blood Centre is responsible for both provision of a clinical transfusion medicine service to Auckland hospitals and also clinical management of issues within the Collection and Production facilities of the Auckland Centre.  The Auckland Area is responsible for collecting and processing approximately 55,000 donations each year and is also responsible for provision of hospital blood banking services at Auckland City hospital.    The Area includes the national red cell reference and Tissue typing laboratories and an active apheresis unit including a clinical apheresis programme.
