Location in detail: Galway

Fom the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way—Galway, a charming city on Ireland’s rugged west coast. A place is bursting with life, history, and character. Cobblestone streets echo with the sound of traditional Irish music, especially in the Latin Quarter, where talented buskers fill the air with fiddles and flutes.

The city sits beside Galway Bay, and you can stroll the famous Salthill Promenade where locals “kick the wall” at the end for good luck. The seafood here is unbeatable—fresh oysters and creamy chowder that warm the soul. And the pubs! Cosy, welcoming, and brimming with stories, whether you're in Tigh Neachtain, The Crane Bar, or Monroe’s Tavern.

Galway feels like a blend of past and present. The medieval Spanish Arch still stands by the river, just a stone's throw from art galleries, street murals, and quirky boutiques. The people are as warm as the tea they’ll insist you share with them—friendly, chatty, and proud of their city’s culture and craic.

From the Claddagh ring’s origins to the stunning landscapes of Connemara just beyond the city, Galway will truly capture your heart.
