We are seeking an experienced
Sports & Musculoskeletal (MSK) Medicine Consultant / GP to join a multidisciplinary team. This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in the delivery and development of specialist MSK, sports injury, pain management, and non-operative orthopaedic services within a world-class healthcare environment.
The Role
You will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletes and non-athletes with musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions. Working closely with surgeons, physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, nutritionists, and other specialists, you will help deliver exceptional patient care while contributing to the ongoing growth and development of MSK Medicine services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries and conditions.
- Deliver specialist care through outpatient and pain management programmes.
- Develop personalised treatment and rehabilitation plans to optimise patient outcomes.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and performance goals.
- Provide clinical leadership and contribute to the development of MSK services, clinical pathways, and evidence-based practice.
- Support research, education, quality improvement, and professional development initiatives.
- Provide specialist advice on EMG investigations and contribute to the development of EMG services where required.
- Participate in on-call services in line with departmental requirements.
Requirements
- Recognised medical degree with specialist qualification and eligibility for medical licensure.
- Minimum 12-15 years' clinical experience, including at least 5 years' post-specialisation experience in Sports Medicine, Family Medicine, Occupational Health, Orthopaedic Surgery, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
- Demonstrated expertise in musculoskeletal medicine and non-operative orthopaedic care.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and service development skills.
- Postgraduate qualification in Sports Medicine or Musculoskeletal Medicine.
- Experience in occupational health, EMG services, clinical research, and programme development.
