Head Medical are seeking experienced Emergency Medicine Doctors to join a dynamic team within the Hunter New England Local Health District. These positions are suitable for UK doctors not yet on the specialist register but with strong middle-grade experience.

The Role
- Lead Shifts: Manage daily ED operations, supervise junior clinicians, and liaise with consultants and other departments.
- Direct Patient Care: Assess and treat patients with a wide range of acute presentations, including trauma, medical, surgical, paediatric, and mental health.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in a structured roster covering after-hours and weekend shifts, with senior consultant backup.
- Clinical Leadership: Promote best practices in triage, patient flow, quality improvement, and departmental governance.
- Education & Teaching: Contribute to in-the-clinic teaching, case discussions, and ACEM-directed professional development sessions.
You will be rostered as a senior member of the emergency team, covering:
- Resus bays, trauma calls, and acute patient management.
- Triage supervision and junior doctor support.
- ED fast-track and short stay unit care.
- On-site consultant (FACEM) support and structured onboarding.
