The Role
The Paediatric ward is a 16-bed paediatric level 3 inpatient unit serving the northwest coast of Tasmania. The team provides care for general, surgical, orthopaedic, and mental health paediatric patients aged 0 - 17. Working closely as part of a multidisciplinary team, staff focus on delivering high-quality healthcare, achieving improved patient outcomes, and supporting a positive workplace culture.
As a Paediatric Registered Nurse, you will:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care across various hospital departments.
- Support patients and families throughout their healthcare journey.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior staff and nursing students.
Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and practices in line with NMBA Registered Nurse standards.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety.
- Flexibility to work across different shifts and departments.
- Post-graduate qualifications in Paediatric Nursing (desirable).
