The Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient-centred nursing care. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Provide safe and effective acute care within an ethical and professional framework
  • Advocate for patients’ dignity, rights, and cultural values
  • Integrate clinical knowledge with organisational policies and professional standards
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of health care delivery within Canberra Health Services

This is a rewarding and fast-paced role where adaptability, high-level communication, and critical thinking are essential. You will need to be available to work across a full rotating roster, including night duty.

Requirements

  • Tertiary Nursing qualifications and registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in acute care nursing
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • High-level communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and exceptional patient care

Desirable:

  • Previous Emergency Department experience
  • Knowledge of CHS clinical governance and safety frameworks
