THE OPPORTUNITY. Brockville is inviting dedicated Psychiatrists to join our Department of Psychiatry. Practicing within the state-of-the-art Donald B. Green Tower, you will support a comprehensive mental health program that includes a 22-bed Inpatient Unit, a 24/7 Crisis Team, and specialized community programs like ACT and CDSU. Whether you are an experienced consultant or a new graduate, you will find a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment that prioritizes patient-centred care and clinical excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES. 

• Lead stabilization and treatment for adults (16+) with acute mental illness across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in a sustainable one-in-six weekday/weekend on-call rotation.
• Provide expert psychiatric consultation to the Emergency Department and Crisis Team.
• Mentor medical learners and residents through an academic appointment with Queen's University.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of psychologists, nurses, and social workers to deliver recovery-oriented care.

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE (COMPETENCIES). 

Licensure: Must hold an M.D. or equivalent and be eligible for a fully unrestricted license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). 

Certification: Must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Psychiatry) or equivalent (UK CCT or American Board Certification). 

Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in interdisciplinary collaboration and a commitment to continuous quality improvement. 

Communication: Proficiency in English is required to ensure safe and effective patient-centred care.
