About the Role
Bay of Plenty currently have positions available for suitably qualified Specialists to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team based at in Whakatāne. This is a permanent position.
Whakatāne maternity service is a Secondary level service with approximately 700 births a year. A Level 2 Special Care Baby Unit is located within the maternity facility. Patients requiring Tertiary care are referred to Waikato and/or Auckland Hospitals. Elective gynaecology services, including full Colposcopy services, are provided locally. We have well-resourced theatre facilities for acute and elective surgery, including minor and major open and minimal access procedures.
About the Team/Service/ Location
You will become a member of a small team of O & G specialists based in Whakatāne, with whom you will share the on call and elective workload. You should therefore be a good team player with a flexible work ethic.
You will be registered or eligible for registration within the O & G Vocational scope of practice, as determined by the Medical Council of New Zealand. Consideration will be given to full time or minimum 30 hours per week part time if coming from overseas to meet visa requirements. You will share in the after-hours on call roster.
