Locum Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) – Gibraltar
Fixed-Term Contract | 6 Months | Commencing 1 August 2026
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join a busy theatre team in Gibraltar on a 6-month fixed-term contract, commencing 1 August 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled ODP seeking a rewarding overseas placement while working within a modern healthcare environment.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £30,378 - £40,140 per annum
- Salary placement will be determined based on years of reckonable NHS service.
- Please note that remuneration is not paid on an hourly rate basis.

- Return economy-class flights from the UK to Gibraltar reimbursed upon submission of receipts, inclusive of one piece of luggage
- Full-time position: 40 hours per week
The Role
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary theatre team, delivering high standards of perioperative care across a range of specialties.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Operating Department Practitioner - HCPC Registered.
- A minimum of 18 months post graduate UK experience.
- Proven experience supporting obstetric anaesthesia
- Proven experience supporting paediatric anaesthesia
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively within a busy theatre environment
Desirable Experience
- Scrub practitioner experience
- Recovery practitioner experience
- Previous experience working across multiple theatre specialties
