Head Medical is seeking post-foundation doctors for Emergency Medicine opportunities based across Rotorua and Taupō Hospital in the stunning Lakes region of New Zealand.

- Gain exposure to a broad caseload across both hospitals, developing procedural and clinical skills
- Work with a supportive multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, Registrars, and nursing staff

- Salary $96,870-$131,535 NZD per annum ( depending on experience)

The Role
Lakes District Health Board covers both Rotorua and Taupō in New Zealand’s central North Island. The service supports a population of approximately 110,000 across a mix of urban, rural and tourist communities, with care delivered through Rotorua Hospital (a 400+ bed secondary hospital) and Taupō Hospital.
Rotorua Hospital – a secondary base hospital offering a wide range of services, including Emergency Medicine, ICU, Anaesthesia, O&G, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, and general medical and surgical specialties. Taupō Hospital – a Level 3 rural hospital with a 24/7 Emergency Department, 15-bed inpatient unit, and outpatient/day-stay services.
Taupō Hospital’s Emergency Department offers an exciting opportunity for doctors looking to gain valuable experience in a diverse, fast-paced clinical setting. The Emergency Department handles a wide variety of cases, including trauma and medical emergencies, providing excellent learning opportunities and professional development in a supportive, close-knit team.
