Job Title: Internist (Department of Internal Medicine)

Compensation: $1,800 per day (08:00 - 17:00) + Fee-for-Service + HOCC funding

THE OPPORTUNITY. Brockville invites applications for an Internist to support our Department of Internal Medicine and Hospitalist team. We are a 172-bed facility, serving as the largest hospital in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. You will join a dynamic, collegial group of professionals dedicated to safe, effective care in a newly expanded clinical environment equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including a new MRI and 24/7 tele-radiology.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex acute and chronic conditions.   
  • Support the three-physician hospitalist team as an Admissionist during core daytime hours (08:00 am to 05:00 pm), providing critical consults for the Emergency Department.   
  • Manage a clinical load of approximately 20 to 22 patients as part of the multidisciplinary hospitalist team.   
  • Participate in the internal medicine on-call rotation, supporting our 10-bed, level 3 ICU and certified stroke center.   
  • Engage with regional partners through the Lumeo Regional Health Information System to ensure seamless care transitions across Southeastern Ontario.   

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE (COMPETENCIES). Licensure: Must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). We welcome applications from both Canadian and internationally trained physicians. 

Certification: Board-certified in Internal Medicine (FRCPC) or equivalent, (UK CCT or American Board Certification). 

Skills: Excellence in clinical diagnosis, multidisciplinary teamwork, and patient-centred communication. Subspecialty interests in cardiology, respirology, or endocrinology are highly valued.
