The location

Lake Macquarie is nestled midway between the Central Coast and Newcastle. Get out on the water and enjoy the aquatic playground. Hire a boat or kayak and throw in a line or experience the thrill of a jet boat ride on the largest coastal saltwater lake in the southern hemisphere.

Lake Macquarie is also home to four beautiful patrolled beaches stretching over 10km of pristine coastline. Explore the Watagan Mountains National Park by bushwalking, horse riding or 4WDing through the lush rainforest.

Newcastle is Australia’s 6th largest city and the practice is just 143km north of Sydney. There are daily flights however it is less than 2 hour drive on the major Freeway. It has also been recently voted by ‘Lonely Planet’ as amongst the 10 best cities to visit in the world.

Newcastle is the heart of the Hunter Valley, a popular wine district of Australia. It has a borderline oceanic/humid subtropical climate like much of central and northern New South Wales. Summers tend to be warm and winters are generally mild.

The Newcastle/Hunter region has over 300 schools from infants and primary to secondary schools. There is a mix of private (religious and independent), public, selective and specialist (performing arts, intellectual and sports schools

What head medical can do for you

Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
