- Multicultural Mosaic: Scarborough is one of the most diverse areas in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with over 56% of residents being foreign-born in a 2016 census. This rich cultural mix translates into a vibrant community and an exceptional, eclectic food scene, featuring authentic Chinese, Indian, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern cuisines.
- Natural Beauty: Often called Toronto's "greenest borough," Scarborough is famous for its natural landmarks. The most notable are the Scarborough Bluffs, a stunning escarpment along Lake Ontario with parks, beaches, and scenic views.
- Lifestyle & Affordability: Scarborough generally offers more affordable housing options (houses, condos, apartments) and a lower cost of living than downtown Toronto. It is considered family-friendly due to its reputable schools, numerous community centers, and a quieter, more suburban feel.
- Amenities: The Scarborough Town Centre is the major hub for shopping, with over 250 stores, dining, and entertainment options. The area also has several hospitals under the Scarborough Health Network and access to the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus and Centennial College.
