Are you an experienced Scrub Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity in a stunning location? Our client in Gibraltar is seeking a skilled professional to join their surgical team for a fixed-term contract up to 1st of August 2026. The salary on offer will be dependant on recognisable experience.
About the Role
You will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining the highest standards of care. While the department’s preference is for a scrub cover, candidates with anaesthetic experience in addition to scrub duties will be highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures by scrubbing in and handling instruments and supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field by following established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and provide instruments and supplies accordingly.
- Assist with counting sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures, reporting any discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Clean and sterilize instruments following established procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Full registration with NMC (UK).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Must have a minimum of 18 months' post-graduate experience working within operating theatres.
- Strong knowledge of scrub techniques and sterile procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
