If you’re taking a year out from your training or are thinking about relocating to New Zealand on a longer term basis, you won’t find a better location to experience the laidback kiwi lifestyle whilst having a truly unique learning experience.

We’re seeking an Emergency Medicine Registrar to be based in the subtropical region of Northland on New Zealand's North Island.  The Northland Region is the northernmost of New Zealand's 16 regions and offers warm, humid summers and mild winters.

  • PGY3+ level or above;
  • Commencing mid 2020 - start date can be flexible for the right candidate;
  • Core medical training in a relaxed rural coastal environment;
  • Welcoming multicultural community and a opportunity for a unique training experience;
  • Permanent position.

Requirements for this role

To be considered for this role, you will need to hold general registration or be eligible for provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. There are different pathways for NZ and we can advise you if you’re unsure.

We can assist with the medical registration and work visa applications if you are successfully appointed.

Please visit the MCNZ website for details on the medical registration requirements, including primary source verification of your qualifications which was introduced by MCNZ 1st November 2017.

Primary Source Verification using EPIC

All relevant qualifications must now be verified by ECFMG using the EPIC system on behalf of the Medical Council of New Zealand.  We recommend starting this off as early as possible during the recruitment process, especially if you hold qualifications from locations outside NZ. Candidates can log on to EPIC and complete this step online very easily. Starting this as early as possible will prevent delays if your University does not respond quickly to verification requests from ECFMG via EPIC.ing

Log on to EPIC here and read the FAQs section about how to get started.

For more details, please contact Leona Young at leona@headmedical.com with a copy of your CV, or feel free to call Leona on +44 131 240 5265 for a confidential discussion.
