The Role
You will join an established Department of Cardiology, providing consultant-led care across inpatient, outpatient, cardiovascular unit and procedural services.
Clinical responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialist inpatient and outpatient cardiology services
- Performing daily cardiology ward rounds and consultations
- Participating in the cardiology on-call rota
- Interpreting ECGs, echocardiograms and cardiac stress tests
- Providing care for patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias and peripheral vascular disease
- Developing and supporting inpatient and outpatient cardiology care pathways
- Maintaining high standards of clinical governance, documentation and quality improvement
- Participating in diagnostic and procedural cardiology services
Successful candidates will enjoy working within a close-knit multidisciplinary team and be comfortable practising in a smaller island healthcare environment.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- American Board of Internal Medicine Certification or equivalent qualification (e.g. MRCP UK)
- Fellowship training in Cardiology from a recognised programme
- American Board Subspecialty Certification in Cardiovascular Disease, or UK equivalent (minimum four years' specialist cardiology training following qualification in Internal Medicine)
- At least 1-3 years' post-fellowship experience as a Cardiologist
- Current registration with an appropriate Medical Council or Licensing Authority
- Eligibility for registration with the Bermuda Medical Council
