Consultant Cardiologist (Locum Pool) – Bermuda

The Role

You will join an established Department of Cardiology, providing consultant-led care across inpatient, outpatient, cardiovascular unit and procedural services.

Clinical responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialist inpatient and outpatient cardiology services
  • Performing daily cardiology ward rounds and consultations
  • Participating in the cardiology on-call rota
  • Interpreting ECGs, echocardiograms and cardiac stress tests
  • Providing care for patients with coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias and peripheral vascular disease
  • Developing and supporting inpatient and outpatient cardiology care pathways
  • Maintaining high standards of clinical governance, documentation and quality improvement
  • Participating in diagnostic and procedural cardiology services

Successful candidates will enjoy working within a close-knit multidisciplinary team and be comfortable practising in a smaller island healthcare environment.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • American Board of Internal Medicine Certification or equivalent qualification (e.g. MRCP UK)
  • Fellowship training in Cardiology from a recognised programme
  • American Board Subspecialty Certification in Cardiovascular Disease, or UK equivalent (minimum four years' specialist cardiology training following qualification in Internal Medicine)
  • At least 1-3 years' post-fellowship experience as a Cardiologist
  • Current registration with an appropriate Medical Council or Licensing Authority
  • Eligibility for registration with the Bermuda Medical Council

Please note that some applicants may be required to complete an approved English language assessment as part of the registration process.
