We’re seeking experienced Adult Inpatient Psychiatrists to join a state-of-the-art private hospital in Melbourne, delivering evidence-based care across inpatient and day program services.

This role provides psychiatric assessment, treatment, and clinical leadership, ensuring patient-centred care. You will also:
- Develop and oversee individualised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Prescribe and monitor pharmacological and psychological treatments in line with best practice.
- Participate in daily ward rounds, case reviews, and family meetings as required.
- Deliver psychotherapy interventions with a focus on ISTDP principles and methods.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals.

Requirements
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia
- Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or an equivalent qualification as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN) or New Zealand.
The Medical Board of Australia implemented a new expedited pathway to specialist registration in December 2024, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification in Psychiatry. The only accepted qualifications are MRCPsych and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) after 2007. The standard Specialist Pathway or the Accelerated Pathway are still available to those who aren’t eligible for the Expedited specialist pathway.
