Darwin's largest University is the Charles Darwin University which is the central provider of tertiary education in the Northern Territory, it covers both vocational and academic courses, acting as both a university and an Institute of TAFE.
Attracting substantial numbers of tourists, Darwin is a fascinating city (unlike any in the world) with a beautiful harbour, marina complexes and a diverse lively character. It is a perfect base to explore The Top End (as the tip of the Northern Territory is known) and the Kakadu National Park. The ‘Sky City’ Darwin is a welcome addition and includes accommodation, restaurants, exhibition and convention centres, live music venue and bars. As a tropical city, Darwin has two seasons, wet and dry. The wet season sees monsoonal rain and spectacular electrical storms, especially between December and March. The dry season is from May to September and is the peak tourist season, with sunshine, mild days, warm night and wonderful weather to explore outdoors.
