Location

We are sure that you are aware of the recent earthquakes that the City has experienced, however rather than see this as a deterrent; it presents an interesting and unique opportunity to see first-hand a city undergoing an exciting period of regeneration and renovation.

The City remains the gateway to the amazing experiences that are on offer in this region and the wider South Island. Located on the East Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, there is easy access to surf, snow and mountains. Within a few hours from the heart of the city you'll find lush vineyards, pristine glacial lakes, alpine hot pools and world-class wildlife experiences - and just 30 minutes away, discover an ancient volcanic peninsula dotted with charming townships, hidden bays and magnificent landscapes.

The region is noted for its sport and has a climate that allows anyone to get involved in the sport of their choice – from skiing to fishing, cricket to golf, and every sport in between. Geographically, the region is truly diverse, with the lush, fertile Canterbury plains, Southern Alps, and stunning rivers, beaches and lakes all within easy reach of the city.

The work is interesting, challenging and varied in an environment that is strongly team oriented and above all, highly supportive, and offers a unique experience to contribute to a vital service as the local community moves forward with its rebuilding and regeneration plans.

How Head Medical can help

Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK's specialist in international medical recruitment and we‘ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.

Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself.
