After completing my Rheumatology and general medical training in the UK, I started looking for a Consultant position.
My clever husband, realizing I wasn’t enjoying my job in the NHS, suggested I look abroad. I saw an advert for overseas jobs via Head Medical and decided to enquire. This put me in contact with the lovely Amanda Gregory, who brought my attention to a job in Singapore. She gave me great advice and support during the interview process (my first Skype interview!).
Amanda then handed me over to her efficient colleague Claire Garrahan who eased me through the long process (7 months) of registration and accreditation. Without the two of them I would still be in the UK!
The process of moving to Singapore has been much smoother than I anticipated. Everything was laid out for me, and well organized both from Head Medical and my new employers. Even after the move, I have had contact with Amanda to see how things are going.
I am so glad I moved to Singapore, clean city, comfortable living, easy to get around, friendly people and amazing food! It’s a great environment to be in. Thanks Amanda and Claire!
