Southland Urology Services, based at Southland in Invercargill, have an exciting opportunity of a permanent Consultant Urologist who will join our small but very experienced team of urologists. The Service provides a combination of inpatient, outpatient and community services to our patients in the Southland catchment area.

There is also an opportunity to run clinics and undertake simple surgery in Queenstown.

There is a focus on urology oncology, endourology (stones) and management of BPE and LUTS.

The role responsibilities includes:

  • Providing high quality patient centred care
  • Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service and participation in strategic planning
  • Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
  • Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
  • Active participation in continuing medical education

The on call commitment of a 1:3 and includes urology clinics, diagnostics and theatre activities.

With an abundance of natural resources, Southland's economy is booming, bringing real benefits to the entire region and offers one of the highest employment rates in New Zealand.
