The Practice
This small privately owned practice has been serving the local community for the last 2 years and operates Monday – Wednesday 7:40am – 5pm, Thursday 7:40am-6pm and is closed on the weekend.
The practice that serves both the permanent and transient local population of 10,000 is a private billings practice with high earning potential. Current GPs are booked out 2 weeks in advance so any incoming GPs can expect to be busy from day one.
The practice has 4 consult rooms and a treatment room and the team of GPs is supported by nurses and support staff.
GPs with a special interest in Women’s Health and Tropical Diseases are encouraged to apply. 1-2 year flexible contracts available.
Eligibility
As the practice is located in a DPA MMM6 location Drs eligible for registration via the RACGP and ACRRM specialist pathway are eligible to apply for this position.
The Location
The practice is located in Katherine, a rural town located 320km southeast of Darwin. Katherine is known for its natural beauty, cultural heritage and outdoor recreational opportunities.
The town is located on the banks of the Katherine River, which flows through the region and is surrounded by stunning landscapes. The Katherine Gorge, also known as Nitmiluk National Park, is a major attraction in the area and it is easy to see why!
With a population of 10,000, it is one of the largest towns in the region and serves as a hub for surrounding rural communities, providing all the necessary amenities, including schools, hospitals, shopping centre and recreational facilities.
