✨ About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Theatre Team Lead to support surgical services on the beautiful island of St Helena. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a remote healthcare setting while experiencing life in one of the world’s most extraordinary locations.
You will lead a small, skilled perioperative team, ensuring safe and effective delivery of surgical care across a range of procedures. This role requires adaptability, clinical leadership, and a collaborative spirit.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the theatre team in delivering high-quality perioperative care.
- Oversee daily theatre operations including scheduling, staffing, and equipment.
- Support and mentor local staff, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and clinical governance standards.
- Liaise with surgical, anaesthetic, and recovery teams to ensure seamless patient care.
👩⚕️ Requirements
- NMC-registered nurse or HCPC-registered Operating Department Practitioner.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in theatres, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in resource-limited settings.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous overseas or remote work experience desirable but not essential.
