Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics - Wales
This appointment is for 12 months in the first instance, with a view to this post being made permanent. The successful applicant will be responsible for General Theatre Anaesthetics including Emergencies and ITU. Duties include elective General Surgery, Gynaecology, Trauma & Orthopaedic and Day cases, along with emergency work. This post contributes to a 2nd on-call hybrid rota to provide 24 hour cover for emergency surgery, intensive care, resuscitation and inter-hospital transfers.

Candidates should have a minimum of two years (or equivalent) Postgraduate training in Anaesthetics. Previous NHS experience is desirable but not essential. International doctors should demonstrate a breadth and depth of experience comparable to that obtainable in the UK.
The post includes elective theatre work and second on call duties shared with the other 7 SAS grade Anaesthetists (first on
call is carried out by CT Anaesthetists). The on call work will include emergency anaesthetic, critical care and transfer duties.
