Head Medical is seeking post-foundation trainees for a rotational role at Tauranga Hospital that provides structured experience in both Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This opportunity is ideal for doctors who are exploring a future career in either specialty.

The Hospital

Tauranga Hospital is a 359-bed regional hospital offering general and specialist medical services to a population of over 260,000 across the Bay of Plenty. As part of Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand), it works in partnership with Whakatāne Hospital (1 hour away), delivering high-quality care to diverse communities, including a significant Māori population (25.6%).
You’ll rotate between:
- Paediatrics – caring for acute and chronic paediatric conditions in a supportive learning environment
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology – gaining exposure to antenatal care, intrapartum management, and general gynaecology
Both departments are well-staffed with experienced Consultants and offer structured supervision and regular clinical meetings to support your professional growth.
