Paediatrics Resident Medical Officer (SHO) - New Zealand
Head Medical have exciting opportunities for post-foundation doctors seeking an opportunity to develop their career in Paediatrics. These roles are based at one of New Zealand’s largest provincial hospitals in Hastings, where you will join a supportive, multi-disciplinary team and gain valuable clinical experience.

- Salary $101,492 - $133,533 NZD per annum (depending on experience)
- February 2026 commencement – 12 month contract
The Role
You will be working in a modern, 400-bed accredited secondary hospital providing acute and elective care to a population of 162,000. The Paediatrics Department includes 9 Consultants, 5 Registrars, and 5 Senior House Officers.
- Rotating roster covering acute areas including Special Care Baby Unit, delivery suite, and children’s ward
- Supported learning and development with regular Paediatric lectures and the opportunity to complete Newborn Life Support
- Multidisciplinary team environment with strong consultant support
