The Role
You will be based at a modern 400-bed secondary-level accredited public hospital, providing acute and elective care to a population of more than 162,000 people. As one of the largest provincial hospitals in New Zealand, it offers a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, oncology and radiological services.
The role provides the opportunity to join a supportive Ophthalmology team consisting of six Consultants and three Registrars, with exposure to a varied mix of inpatient and outpatient work.
You will also gain experience across acute admissions, the surgical ward, operating theatre, and Emergency Department, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills and knowledge while working alongside experienced clinicians. The service also provides outreach clinics and services to rural and community-based facilities across the region, including Wairoa and Waipukurau.
