Who is this suited to?
This opportunity would suit doctors who have completed UK or Irish Core Medical Training / Internal Medicine Training, or an equivalent level of postgraduate medical training, and are looking to develop a career in Clinical Haematology. As a guide, candidates would ideally have around 4 - 5+ years of postgraduate medical experience, with a solid background in General Medicine.
The Role
You will be based at Launceston General Hospital and join the Northern Cancer Service, providing care to a population of approximately 250,000 across Northern and North West Tasmania. The role offers broad exposure to malignant and benign Haematology across inpatient and outpatient settings, including consultative Haematology, outpatient clinics, and ambulatory patient care. You will work closely with experienced Consultant Haematologists and have opportunities to participate in the on-call service, clinical trials, research, teaching, apheresis, and stem cell collection. The position also provides 10 hours of protected training time per fortnight, supporting your ongoing professional development.
