Head Medical is seeking post-foundation doctors for General Medicine opportunities based in Taupō Hospitals in the stunning Lakes region of New Zealand.
You will join a supportive team and enjoy exploring one of New Zealand’s most stunning regions – from geothermal wonders to lakes, mountains, and forests.
- Gain exposure to a broad caseload across both hospitals, developing procedural and clinical skills
- Work with a supportive multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, Senior Registrars, Junior Registrars, and nursing staff

- Salary $ 106,672 – $133,842 NZD (depending on experience)
- 12 Month Contract
The Role
Lakes District Health Board covers both Rotorua and Taupō in New Zealand’s central North Island. The service supports a population of approximately 110,000 across a mix of urban, rural and tourist communities, with care delivered through Rotorua Hospital (a 400+ bed secondary hospital) and Taupō Hospital.
The General Medicine Department provides acute inpatient and outpatient services with a broad and varied case mix. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, gaining strong clinical exposure in general internal medicine and working closely with senior clinicians in a well-supported regional centre with links to tertiary services in Hamilton.
