Opportunity
This is a service delivery role in a busy medical department in South-East Ireland. The Registrar will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering acute and continuing care to infants, children, and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day medical care for paediatric inpatients, outpatients, and emergency cases.

Participate in the on-call rota for paediatrics, including neonatal care and emergency admissions.

Assist consultants with ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and procedures.

Attend deliveries where neonatal resuscitation is required.

Liaise with nursing and allied health staff to ensure holistic patient care.

Complete and maintain medical records accurately and in a timely manner.

Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities.

Supervise and support junior medical staff (interns/SHOs).

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and national healthcare standards.

Take part in teaching activities for medical students, nursing staff, and junior doctors
Requirements to Apply

Full registration in place with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)

Must have not worked for HSE Ireland in the past 36 months?

Must not have applied directly to HSE for any job opportunities?

Minimum of 2 years post-internship clinical experience, including at least 6 months in paediatrics.

Neonatal resuscitation training (e.g., NRP)

Have an IELTS / OET Certificate? If yes, please confirm the pass rate

Have a current International Police Certificate

Able to take up the appointment by Aug/Sep 2025
Desirable.

Prior experience working in an Irish or UK healthcare setting.

MRCPCH or equivalent postgraduate qualification (full or in progress).

Participation in quality improvement or patient safety initiatives.
