Registered Nurse (Psychiatric) – Bermuda

Head Medical is inviting expressions of interest from experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurses to join the sole psychiatric hospital in Bermuda. Our client provides hospital and community-based care in the following areas:
· Mental Health/Psychiatry
· Intellectual Disability
· Substance Abuse
· Child and Adolescence
· Elder Care

What's on offer?
- Flights and 3 months temporary hospital accommodation
- Full-time hours - 35 hours per week including weekends / public holidays
- Starting salary $91,000 per annum
Key responsibilities
- Assesses patient’s/client’s mental, physical and emotional care needs and develops care plans to meet those needs
- Communicates and works with care teams to establish comprehensive treatment plans consistent with the needs of the patient/client and keeps the psychiatrist informed of the patient’s/client’s condition and progress
- Maintaining a keen interest in the service user's progress and preparing them for eventual discharge and continued care in the community
- Sharing responsibility for ordering, dispensing, administering and the safety of drugs on the unit
- Assisting with the orientation of new staff
- Assisting in cases of emergencies, both in and out of hospital
- Conforming to the acceptable standards in the practice of nursing by demonstrating appropriate knowledge, principles, methods and techniques
- Participating in education for the patient/client, families and the community
- Participating in in-service education, both in updating their own experience and sharing with others
Requirements
Qualifications &/ Registration required:
- RN, RMN, RNMH, RNLD, Graduate of a 3 or 4 year Psychiatric Nursing Education Program or an 18-month Post Graduate Psychiatric course approved by the Bermuda Nursing Council
- Minimum of 2 years post- registration experience of working in Psychiatric Nursing
- Registered with the Bermuda Nursing Council
