THE OPPORTUNITY. Brockville, in partnership with the Department of Paediatrics at Queen’s University, is seeking a General Paediatrician for a joint academic appointment. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a collaborative Women and Children’s Department within a 172-bed hospital. You will serve a catchment area of 250,000 residents, providing community-based consultative practice and labour and delivery suite coverage. With approximately 300 deliveries annually and a supportive 1-in-3 on-call rotation, you will enjoy a high-volume, meaningful practice while maintaining a vibrant personal life.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Deliver expert community-based consultative paediatric care and outpatient clinic coverage.
- Provide essential on-call and labor and delivery suite coverage within a 1-in-3 rotation.
- Contribute to medical education and research as a faculty member of Queen’s University.
- Lead local quality improvement initiatives and participate in faculty committees.
- Foster meaningful, patient-centred connections within the Brockville community.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE (COMPETENCIES).
Licensure: Must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
Certification: Preference will be given to candidates who hold or are eligible for certification in Paediatrics (RCSPC) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Education: MD degree (or equivalent) and completion of postgraduate qualifications in general Paediatrics from either Canada, the U.K (with CCT) or the U.S (with American Board Certification)
Skills: Strong clinical expertise and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centred care.
