About the Job

Gore is the Southlands second largest town with a population of approximately 9,000 people and covers a geographically large rural area.

Central to the main lower South Island tourist locations of Queenstown, Wanaka, Te Anau and the Catlins.  Gore is internationally known for its trout fishing, annual Gold Guitar Country Music Festival, and Hokonui Fashion Awards.  It has an active Musical Society, Theatrical Society and many sporting groups.  The internationally acclaimed John Mooney Collection is also situated at the Gore Art Gallery. Gore also provides excellent amenities which include good shopping, cafes, library and a new multi sports complex with fitness, swimming and ice skating facilities.

  • Salary & Benefits Package: Salary of NZD$160-$220k, 3 months accommodation & 1 month car rental on arrival, 5 weeks paid leave plus public holidays, 1wks study leave & $3k CME funding. Additional lump sum to help with the relocation costs.
  • Practice & working environment: 4 day working week, seeing on average 20-25 patients per day, with opportunities to explore & expand on Special Interests to complement your general practice work. Minor Surgery advantageous but not essential.
  • Variety of Opportunities: There are a number of exciting opportunities in Gore & in the surrounding rural towns and communities .
