Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty’s largest employers with over 4000 staff.
About the Role
Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty provides Neurology services predominantly as outpatient-based care with a team of three Consultant Neurologists, Specialist nurses and Allied Health staff.
The service sees around 1300 new patients per annum alongside providing longer term specialist care across the wider Bay of Plenty district at Tauranga and Whakatāne.
The service does not admit directly but provides consultation and specialist review to patient on referral.
There is the opportunity to develop or maintain areas of specialist interest and to contribute to the ongoing professional development of undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and allied health staff.
One of our current team is working towards retirements in 2024 and therefore we are recruiting as succession planning and to continue the excellent care currently being provided here.
